Claims: patented core, unpatented ring
The Basin Gulch Property is underlain by a core of patented mining claims surrounded by unpatented mining claims: 11 patented and 53 unpatented, for 1,107 hectares in total. In the United States a patented claim is held as private property, while an unpatented claim gives the holder mineral rights on federal land, subject to annual requirements.
Lannister Mining notes that Basin Gulch is primarily on patented land, and that the land package is large, consolidated and holds multiple high priority targets near the historic resource area.
